Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou Split

Have Kimora Lee Simmons and her man of four years, Djimon Hounsou, called it quits? The New York Daily News reports that the couple, who are parents to their three-year-old baby, Kenzo Lee Hounsou, are ending their relationship amid arguments about money. The report speculates that the model-turned-mogul is under financial strain after her ex-husband, Russell Simmons, allegedly decided to stop funding their lifestyle. “Djimon walked out on Kimora,” a source tells the newspaper, adding that “Kimora lives as if she’s the Queen of England,” and that the couple had a "big fight over money." The rumor of money trouble was fueled on Thursday when Kimora put her Los Angeles mansion on the market for $4.7 million, more than a million less than its peak value of $5.9 million. The Life in the Fab Lane star was quick to respond to that rumor via Twitter: “Wow, I put 1 of several properties I own (+ DONT live in) on the market & now apparently my whole life is fallin apart?!” she tweeted. “Rumors, Rumors ...” But she sidestepped questions about her relationship with the Blood Diamond actor. Simmons’ spokeswoman said only that “Kimora has a beautiful family life.” Meanwhile, Hounsou, who re-tweeted Kimora's statement about her property, also dodged the issue of his marriage. His rep would only say, “Djimon's been working in Vancouver for the past few months.” The couple began dating in 2007, less than a year after Kimora separated from her husband of 10 years, Russell Simmons. They participated in a traditional commitment ceremony from Hounsou's native Benin in 2008, one year before giving birth to their first child together, Kenzo. Another source speculates that it was Kimora's tight relationship with her ex Russell that sparked problems. When the couple vacationed with Simmons in St. Barth's over the New Year's holiday, “Kimora stuck Djimon with keeping track of the three kids while she socialized with her ex." “He is a calm, super-nice person and she’s such a diva,” says the source. “I couldn’t believe they got together in the first place.” As of yet, there has been no official word from either Simmons or Hounsou about their relationship status.
