Chelsea to face Benfica in Champions League quarter-finals

Chelsea have been drawn to face Benfica in the Champions League quarter-finals, playing away in the first leg. If Chelsea triumphs, they will meet the winners of the quarter-final between AC Milan and Barcelona with the first leg on home soil. Chelsea overturned a 3-1 first-leg deficit to knock out Napoli in order to reach the last eight of the competition as the only premier league side left in the European tournament while Benfica advanced from the last-16 by knocking out Zenit St Petersburg. Defending champions Barcelona are set for another showdown with Italian champions AC Milan in the quarter final of the UEFA Champions league. The Catalan giants had already confronted the 7-time winners in the group phase twice with both games producing some of the best moments of the tournament. Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho faces a trip to Cyprus after Real Madrid was paired with Apoel FC. If Real win, they would then meet the winners of Marseille and Bayern Munich. Real Madrid were however handed a relatively easy draw against debutants Apoel Nicosia of cyprus while Bayern Munich, whose Allianz Arena home will host the final of this year’s competition, will face Olympique Marseille. The quarter-final first legs will be played on 27 and 28 March with the second legs following on 3 and 4 April.
